Over the past decade the Borough of Fort Lee has made great strides in regaining its place as one of the best places to live, work and raise a family in northern New Jersey.  Our Borough is now home to the two largest, most iconic residential high-rises in Bergen County, new retail stores with more on the way, five new wi-fi accessible public parks available to all members of the public {including our second Community Garden scheduled to open this Fall}, a completely refurbished downtown area and, perhaps most importantly, the expansion of our school system which continues to reach new heights of accomplishment. Celebrating Fort Lee’s past as the First Hollywood and once home to every major movie studio, Fort Lee is about to break ground on a new, state-of-the-art theater and playhouse on Main Street which will soon play host to Fort Lee’s first Film Festival, independent movies, notable speakers and other productions. Also nearing completion is our new parking facility which will accommodate our local merchants, commuters and residents and also serve as the location of a new Post Office and Passport Center and our current post office will be razed and become another passive park offering bike sharing, exercise stations and a place to simply take a break…..Our community of approximately 40,000 people has also experienced a resurgence of restaurants specializing in all cuisines including Italian, Chinese, Korean, Cuban, Greek and Turkish which are all about to be featured in our Second Restaurant Week this Fall which has been met with incredible success gaining the attention of world renowned chefs who help us host the event!!!

Over the past decade Fort Lee has made a commitment to reinvesting in its future and restoring pride in our community. From our public school education facilities to our youth sports programs, from our movies under the stars to our weekly concerts, from our countless programs and activities at the Jack Alter Community Center to our Holiday Tree Lighting attended by over 4,000 people, from our feasts and carnivals to our parades, from our bus tour of Revolutionary War landmarks and residences of famous movie stars of the past to our PBA-sponsored First Night, Fort Lee is on its way to regaining its place as one of the most sought after, safest and diverse communities in the State of New Jersey….to make sure every resident is aware of all that there is to do and enjoy in our community Fort Lee now boasts its own YouTube On Demand Channel featuring professionally produced minuets highlighting the many ongoings in our borough, its own dedicated AM radio band {AM 1630}, the Fort Lee “App”, a new website, bi-monthly Newsletters and text messaging alerting all residents to upcoming events and programs.  According to Mayor Mark Sokolich….”by far, our most important achievement over the past decade has been restoring pride in our great community….our facilities are new, our public schools are the envy of the area and no community boasts more activities and programs for its residents.  From our youngest kids to our seniors, Fort Lee offers a safe, secure and friendly environment to live, work and raise a family”.
